Not much happened except the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee finally decided to raise the prime rate by 0.25% – since the markets had been guessing all year as to when this would happen, “now-howbout-now, howbout-now, howboutnow” becomes ok, ….now. Long overdue and anti-climactic. The markets yawned, the stocks fell somewhat on the news, and somewhat as end-of-year profit or loss taking.
