Tom and I were in Rome celebrating my milestone birthday. It was a trip of a lifetime, and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity. Especially when there were times I didn’t think I would survive to see another birthday.

I had a rough landing on the planet, and later, two operations where I didn’t know how I would survive and all I could do was focus on my next breath.

That experience of just breathing my way through, taught me the essence of survival. Surviving pain by breathing through it whether emotional, mental, or physical.

This is what makes you capable of withstanding anything, being a survivor, and then a thriver.

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but rather the one most adaptable to change.”
