The SSA recently announced that they will no longer issue printouts confirming your social security number.
When we finance an FHA or VA loan, we will now need a copy of your social security card. We used to be able to take a printout stamped and signed by an SSA employee in lieu of the card. This will no longer be possible.
This new rule becomes effective AUGUST 1st, 2014.
Since it takes a couple of weeks to get your social security card delivered by mail, please go down to SSA or order on line ASAP.
